Tennessee Technological University's Foreign Languages Department and the Angelo and Jennette Volpe Library and Media Center, presented the film series: The Seventh Art: Classics of the French Cinema. It was a four part series and a center stage event. The film series was shown between March 30, 2011 and April 20, 2011. The films that were shown were: La Belle et la Bete, Les Amants, La Haine, Le Fabuleux Destin a'Amelie Poulain. These films present French attitudes towards love, life, and social issues. They give viewers a greater insight into the French psyche. Each of these films has had an impact in the United States.
