Content Description

The Commission on the Status of Women records date from 1987 to 2006, with the bulk of the materials dating 1994 to 1999. Records are predominately comprised of reports, survey documentation, procedures, committees, and minutes detailing events held by the Commission on the Status of Women, including daily proceedings. There are expenditure reports, memoranda, and financial reports and the proposal for the Women’s Center on campus.

Biographical / Historical

In 1987, Tennessee Technological University formed the Commission on the Status of Women to promote and provide for women on Tennessee Technological University’s campus in terms of safety, hiring and promotion, and educational offerings. They also provide a supportive climate for female students and women in all University positions, and work with the Women’s Center on campus to spread awareness across the campus community.

These records are the records of two creators, Pat McGee and Dr. Gretta Stanger, who were both involved in the Commission. The records and arranged into two series based on these creators and the folders are arranged alphabetically and chronologically thereunder.
