Arrangement

The records are arranged into the following series: University Assembly records; Academic Council records; Administrative Council records; and their combined committee records alphabetical order. Sub-committees’ records are mingled in within their superior committee's records. Committees were arranged as an independent series, as some moved between reporting to the Academic Council and the Administrative Council--this way their records are contiguous. Committees whose names have changed over time are ordered and labeled according to the name of the committee as of 6/23/2020, or as its most recent given name. Additional committees' records, added 3/16/2021, were pulled from the William C. Schrader papers, are found in box 44 and are listed in the finding aid where they fit alphabetically in prior committee records.

Related Materials

Academic and Administrative Council committee and sub-committee records may also be found in RG9, the Presidents Records, with the bulk of materials dating between 1940 and 1973.

Processing Information

Boxes 39 through 43 consist of the records once contained in RG 89 Commission on the Status of Women, which was created from papers submitted by Pat McGee and Gretta Stanger--these records are arranged into two sub-sub-series based on these creators and the folders are arranged alphabetically and chronologically thereunder." As Gretta Stanger's records have been received in separate accessions, her material was consolidated where appropriate and are ordered within each batch as received. Five years after the date of their creation, Chapter 606 applications are to be destroyed--as this will leave space available in these boxes, records will need to be shifted and eventually added. Admissions and Credits Committee records are restricted, as they contain student-specific grade information. Box 44, added 3/16/2021, consists of material pulled from the William C. Schrader papers containing various committees' records which had not yet been included in this collection: meeting minutes, supporting documentation and related correspondence.
