Development Council records
Scope and Contents
The Tennessee Tech University Development Council was established as a non-profit corporation in 1976 with Tech President Arliss S. Roaden as Chairman, Dr. William H. Baker as Vice-Chairman and representatives from the Tech Alumni Associate and representatives of the following foundations: The Agriculture Foundation for Tennessee Tech, Inc.; The Athletic Foundation; The College of Business Administration Foundation; The Tennessee Tech Education Foundation; The Tennessee Tech Engineering Development Foundation, Inc.; The Performing Arts Foundation; and The Science and Humanities Foundation. As a fund-raising organization, the Council’s purpose was to promote cooperation among all the foundations. Eventually members of the Council broadened to include members at-large including local and statewide business and civic leaders. This collection consists of agendas, minutes and reports of the Council from 1979-1984.Other Council records, covering years 1976 and 1985-86 may be found in the President’s records (RG 9).
