Folder containing manuscript about Congressman Joe L. Evins written by Frank Burns and using the Joe L. Evins papers. Tennessee Technological University asked Frank Burns to write the manuscript, but the moneys and contract never came to fruition according to Burns and his correspondence. Frank Burns was a Professor Emeritus of English from Tennessee Technological University. Frank Burns had 100 copies published. Copy number 2 was donated to the archives (location unknown). The manuscript is called "The Public Life of a Man: A Biography of Joseph Landon Evins, Member of Congress, Tennessee, 1947-1977. Burns was from Milan, Tennessee. He went to Cumberland University, Cumberland School of Law, George Peabody College, and received his Ph.D. in English from Vanderbilt University. He married Mary John Wade Burns, who was faculty at both Cumberland University and Tennessee Technological University.
