William M Hayne was born October 2, 1897. He was a lawyer and politician from Tennessee. He was a member of the State House of Representatives (State of Tennessee) from 1923-1939 and 1961-1963 ; Speaker of the House ; He was a Senate member from 1949-1953 and 1959-1961 ; Speaker and Lieutenant Governor from 1949-1953. He belonged to the Democratic Party. In July 1952, he was a delegate at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. After his retirement, from the Senate, he no longer appeared politically. He died on May 29, 1967.
