Hans Prehn slides
Content Description
Hans Ernst Prehn (1895-1971) was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is buried at the Smyrna Cemetery in Cookeville, Tennessee. Hans studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest and the Cooper Union School of Art. He was married to Guillelmine Cummins. He set up a studio in Tennessee to continue work in painting, sculpting and metal working. He designed the Seal of Tennessee Technological University and made the working model from which the bronze medals were cast. In this collection are four CD-ROMs with photographic slides of his paintings, sculptures, and metalwork. There are six photographic negatives and six black and white photographs of the same portrait of Hans. There are two programs from an exhibit held at Tennessee Technological University in honor of Hans Prehn. There is one letter that his wife wrote to Mr. Mancil Johnson, thanking him for arranging the exhibit.
