Abstract

Vivian Barnes attended Tennessee Tech and graduated in 1949 with a degree in accounting. She married H.S. Barnes, who attended Tech from 1936 to 1939. The materials include clippings from the Oracle, Tech’s student newspaper, and programs from different events, such as operas, plays, choral events, and symphony performances from 1935 to 1980, with most of the material dating from 1938 to 1966.

Scope and Contents From the Collection: This collection is comprised of various newsletters and publications distributed from Tennessee Technological University as well as other institutions in or relevant to the Upper Cumberland area, which date from 1951 through 2020, with the bulk of the records dating from the 1970s through the 2000s. Abstract

The Newsletters and Publications collection is an accumulation of various publications made by Tennessee Tech University and other institutions relevant to the region dating from 1951 through 2020. The records are files of text arranged in alphabetical order by title of publication.

Description From the Series: The Administrative Files series documents Derryberry’s work during his term as President of Tennessee Tech University. Materials include meeting minutes, subject files, clippings, correspondence, financial records, reports, annotated publications on education topics, and records of Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) accreditation visits and self-study preparation.
